A fascinating PBS documentary about the work of neurologist Vilayanur Ramachandran. These youtube clips are from the end of the documentary, when Ramachandran is discussing the case of a man with temporal lobe epilepsy, and the brain functioning that may account for his bizarre experiences of him considering everything in universe of significant importance and getting visits from the God.
Ramachandran is very, very charismatic and explains scientifically why some people have religious experiences.
